Widgets

Widgets bring your day's essentials onto your desktop, right next to your bookmarks. Add one from the desktop toolbar's add menu and drop it into any column.

Available widgets

Clock

Current time and date. No setup needed.

Weather

Current conditions and forecast for your location. Your browser will ask for location permission the first time, and that's all the setup there is.

Tasks

A simple built-in to-do list. Add items, check them off, feel good. Works without any account or integration.

Scratchpad Notes

A sticky note that lives on your desktop. Perfect for the "don't forget this today" stuff that doesn't deserve a whole app.

Quote of the Day

A rotating daily quote. A little inspiration with your morning tabs.

Calendar

Your upcoming events from Google Calendar or Microsoft Calendar (Outlook).

Setup: add the widget, choose Google or Microsoft, and approve the connection when the sign-in window appears. Anchor only asks for read access to your calendar events, and you can disconnect anytime from the widget's settings.

Todoist

Shows and manages your tasks from Todoist. By default it shows the Today view, but you can configure it with any Todoist filter.

Setup: add the widget and approve the Todoist connection when prompted.

Widgets and guest mode

The Clock, Weather, Tasks, Notes, and Quote widgets all work without an account. Calendar and Todoist connect to external services, so you'll need to be signed in to Anchor for those connections to be stored securely.

Managing widgets

  • Move: drag a widget between columns, same as any group
  • Configure: open the widget's settings from its menu (change the Todoist filter, switch calendar accounts, that sort of thing)
  • Remove: delete it from the same menu. You can always add it back later.
