Pricing & Billing
The short version
Every new account starts with a free 60-day trial of the full app — no card required. After that, Anchor is $25 a year. One plan, everything included.
The trial
Your trial includes everything: unlimited desktops, all widgets, calendar and Todoist connections, bookmark import with AI sorting, sharing, the browser extension — the works. There's no card on file and nothing is charged automatically. When the 60 days are up, you choose whether to subscribe.
What happens if I don't subscribe?
Your account isn't deleted and your data isn't held hostage:
- Your desktops stay viewable. You can open Anchor, browse your desktops, search, and open your bookmarks — you just can't add or change anything.
- Export is always available. You can download your data anytime, in two formats: a standard bookmarks HTML file (importable into any browser) or a full JSON backup of your Anchor setup. Both are in Settings → Export.
- Subscribing later picks up right where you left off.
Subscribing and managing your subscription
Subscribe from the upgrade prompt or Settings → Subscription & Billing. Payment is handled by Paddle, our merchant of record — Anchor never sees or stores your card details. From the same settings screen you can update your payment method or cancel; cancelling stops future charges and your access continues until the end of the period you've paid for.
Refunds
Not happy? You can get a full refund within 14 days of any charge — first payment or renewal — no questions asked. Email us at support@anchordesktop.com or request it through Paddle (our merchant of record), and the refund goes back to your original payment method. Outside the 14-day window, get in touch anyway and we'll do our best to sort it out.
I signed up before Anchor had pricing
Accounts created before pricing was introduced stay free, forever. No action needed — it's already applied to your account.
Why paid?
Anchor is funded by the people who use it. That's the whole business model: no ads, no tracking, no selling your data. Your subscription pays for the servers, sync, and integrations — and means you're the customer, not the product.
